Sentinel Alpha (sentinelalpha.tech) is a publication focused on artificial intelligence, blockchain technology, and cryptocurrency insights. This privacy policy explains how we collect, use, and protect your personal data.
What Data We Collect
Newsletter Subscription
When you subscribe to our newsletter, we collect your email address. This is stored securely with our email provider (Resend). You can unsubscribe at any time using the link in every email.
Comments and Lounge Messages
When you post a comment on a blog article or a message in The Sentinel Lounge, we store the display name you provide and the content of your message. We do not require account registration — all posts are anonymous by default.
Analytics
We use Vercel Analytics to understand how visitors use our website. Vercel Analytics is privacy-friendly and cookieless — it does not use cookies, does not track individual users across sites, and does not collect personally identifiable information. We see aggregate data only: page views, referrers, countries, and device types.
How We Use Your Data
- Email addresses: to send our weekly newsletter and occasional updates
- Comments/messages: to display on the website for community interaction
- Analytics: to understand which content resonates and improve the website
Data Sharing
We do not sell, trade, or share your personal data with third parties, except for the following service providers that help us operate the website:
- Vercel — website hosting and analytics
- Resend — email delivery for newsletter
- Upstash — database for comments and messages
Cookies
Sentinel Alpha does not use tracking cookies. Vercel Analytics operates without cookies. No cookie consent banner is required.

- Request deletion of your data
- Withdraw consent (e.g., unsubscribe from the newsletter)

Data Retention
Newsletter subscriptions are retained until you unsubscribe. Comments and messages are retained as long as the website operates. Analytics data is aggregated and does not contain personal information.
Caprica — On-Premise AI Services
Caprica is designed with privacy by design. When you use Caprica:
- Your documents stay on your infrastructure — Caprica runs as a Docker container within your network. Documents are not uploaded to or stored on Sentinel Alpha servers.
- LLM queries — When processing questions, sanitized text chunks (with PII redacted) may be sent to the configured AI provider (e.g., Anthropic Claude). The full document is never sent.
- What Sentinel Alpha receives — Anonymous usage metrics only: query count, uptime, error rate. We never receive document content, employee queries, AI responses, or user identities.
- Access control — You manage access through your own SSO/identity provider (Azure AD, Google Workspace, Okta). Sentinel Alpha does not manage user accounts or credentials.
- Audit trail — All interactions are logged locally with tamper-evident HMAC signatures. The audit log stays on your infrastructure and is available for compliance reviews.
- Data Processing Agreement — Enterprise customers can request a DPA. Contact us at hello@sentinelalpha.tech.
